DITO eSIM Guide for the Philippines: Purchase, Registration and Number Maintenance

DITO offers a prepaid eSIM for the Philippines. You can purchase it through the DITO App, eShop or an Experience Store, install the QR profile, and then complete mandatory SIM registration in the app.

Check these points before buying

Device compatibility

Look for “Add eSIM”, “Add cellular plan” or a SIM Manager option in your phone. Regional variants of the same model may differ, so also check DITO’s current compatibility list.

A permanent email address

Order confirmation and the eSIM QR code may be delivered by email. Do not use a disposable address or share the QR code.

Genuine registration documents

Philippine law requires SIM registration before activation. DITO says foreign tourists generally need:

• Their own passport
• Proof of address in the Philippines
• A return ticket showing the departure date and time
• Accurate personal and address information

Do not invent an address or use someone else’s documents.

Current official price

At the time of this update, DITO lists its new prepaid eSIM at ₱99, with 9GB of all-access data, unlimited all-network texts, DITO-to-DITO calls and an allowance for calls to other networks, valid for 15 days.

Promotions change. Older third-party prices such as ₱89 should not be treated as the current checkout price.

1. Buy the eSIM

Official channels include the DITO App eShop, DITO eShop and DITO Experience Stores. Confirm that the product is an eSIM, enter an email you control, complete payment, and retain the order number and receipt.

2. Install the QR profile

On iPhone, open Settings → Cellular → Add eSIM. On most Android phones, open Settings → Connections or SIM Manager → Add eSIM. Scan the DITO QR code and follow the prompts.

DITO says one eSIM cannot be active on two devices simultaneously. Do not repeatedly scan it or delete a working profile before checking the current replacement rules.

3. Complete SIM registration

Open the current DITO App and:

1. Enter the DITO number.
2. Choose the user type that accurately describes you.
3. Upload your own valid documents.
4. Complete face verification.
5. Provide genuine address and required travel information.
6. Review and submit.

Button labels can change. Follow the current app rather than an old screenshot guide.

4. Confirm activation

Restart the phone and check that the DITO line is enabled, automatic network selection is on, and the app displays the number and balances. If service does not appear, confirm device compatibility and coverage before contacting support.

Top-ups and keeping the number active

DITO lists channels including its app, MyDITO, GCash, GrabPay, WeChat Pay and Alipay. Availability varies.

We could not verify the common claim that a ₱5 or ₱10 top-up always extends a number by one year. Check the exact account and number validity in the app, save a screenshot after every top-up, and ask DITO support before the displayed expiry date.
